Nate's Introduction

Hello friends, family, business associates, and strangers:

My name is Nate (or Nathan) Weis, and I started this blog with my wonderful girlfriend Melissa Snelbaker (Wheel of Fortune anyone?).  Our goal is to document our adventure of risking money and time with the end goal of being wealthy.  I am sure as these posts go, we will succeed and fail at many different endeavors.  I am not afraid of risk or failure, and will consider any mistake as a learning experience.  I love interacting with people, and look forward reading what you have to say about our endeavors as well as hear about what you are doing in an attempt to aquire wealth!

To start things off, I wanted to tell you a little about myself (I am sure Melissa will do her own introduction, so she can tell you about herself).  If you know me, you know that I own my own residential design firm.  If you don't, you can check out what I do on a daily basis here http://www.mcginnisdesigngroup.com/.  I am very proud of this business, and thoroughly enjoy it...most of the time.  The McGinnis Design Group (MDG) has provided me with enough money to live a comfortable life since it's inception in 2003.  Here's the hitch, MDG doesn't work without me.  In reality if I took a couple months off, we would probably go out of business.  So although technically I am a small business owner, I truly consider MDG a job.  Instead of telling people that I own my own business, many times, you'll hear me say that I own my own JOB.  To be clear (especially to all my business associates that may be reading this), I love my company and what I do.  I never plan to stop designing homes.  The goal is to create residual income so I don't have to rely on my design firm for income.

In addition to MDG, I also help run a non-profit called Campers Kicking Cancer in memory of a friend we lost in 2008.  You can read about what we do here http://www.camperskickingcancer.com/.  I am very passionate about this organization, and honestly wish I had more time to dedicate to it.  When our Cashflow Adventure starts creating some income for us, I look forward to focusing on this organization more.

On top of those two, I am also a silent partner in an Indie Record Label (http://www.mossbackrecords.com/), and passionate about getting things free (www.afreething.com/weasel5152).

Thanks for reading this introduction, and I look forward to sharing this amazing adventure with all of you!  If something we do inspires you, we'd love to hear about it so don't be shy!

Here's to success!

Nate
